The month of May has been sadly marked in the UAE by the passing of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the late President of the UAE, Ruler of Abu Dhabi, and Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. In a gesture of the enduring mutual respect and esteem, HRH the Grand Duke of Luxembourg traveled to Abu Dhabi to offer condolences to UAE President HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who succeeded him, and to the people of the UAE.
Sheikh Khalifa conducted an impressive social and economic development of the country and led the transformation of the national economy with strong efforts of economic diversification. Indeed, the UAE’s non-oil sector contribution to the country’s gross domestic product has now reached 72.3 percent in 2021, up from 71.3 percent a year earlier.
